LCA as a Tool in the Learning Bakery

The purpose of this project was to test the implemention of a product-oriented environmental management system at all levels in a large bakery enterprise. Peter Senge's concept of a learning organization was an inspiration for the project.

Our role

We assisted the multinational bakery chain Lantmännen, with courses and supervision, increasing the knowledge about environmental issues and life cycle thinking among all levels of employees, enabling them to use results of life cycle assessments to contribute to product and process development as part of an integrated environmental management system. Project completed March 2003.
