Environmental Impact of Competing Agricultural Products

The purpose of the project was to assess the environmental impacts from Danish pork and milk products in a life cycle perspective, in comparison with competing products, and, on this basis, to identify and prioritise the areas where the Danish environmental performance could be improved.

Our role

With a grant from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, we, together with the sub-contractors, carried out a benchmarking study for pig and milk production. The pig production was compared between USA, Brazil, Spain, The Netherlands and Denmark, and the milk production across different European farm types (Report with summary and annexes in English). Project completed April 2005.
