iLUC Club

Do you need a method and data for the modelling of indirect land use change (iLUC) in LCA? The most recent, readily-applicable, science-based method has been developed in the iLUC Club.

Become a member of the iLUC Club

There is an urgent need for good generic ways of modelling iLUC as well as data for iLUC and with our iLUC initiative we provide just that. Our iLUC Club gives access to such inventories in a consequential as well as an attributional version. As a member you actively contribute to the further refinement of the methods.

The club is open to everyone and subscription costs 3500 EUR in a one-off payment. The below entries are examples of the club content. Would you like to subscribe, or to know more? Read more here or contact us.

Example files

The below entries are examples of iLUC Club content.

  • 2023-11-22 xlsx File with iLUC GHG emissions for all countries and three markets for land This file provides the needed information for obtaining iLUC GHG emission data for any land use (arable, forest, grassland) in any country in the world. With background data, links and formulars.
  • 2020-02-24 pdf Enhancing Land Use Change modelling with IO data – presentation Extended abstract from the presentation by Jannick Schmidt J and Michele De Rosa at the SETAC Europe 28th Annual Meeting, Rome 13 17 May 2018. The slides for this presentation are available here: https://lca-net.com/wp-content/uploads/SETAC_Rome_Schmidt_DeRosa_Slides_20180515.pdf
  • 2019-01-14 zip ei3 process for Nfert for iLUC v4.1_GWP100(ecoinvent v3.4) CSV-file – tool CSV file for import in SimaPro. The file includes a corrected version of the market activity for N-fertilisers in ecoinvent v3.4. You should read the user-manual which is available for download here on the iLUC club web.
  • 2018-06-15 csv iLUC model version 4.3 CSV-file – tool CSV file with the 2.-0 LCA iLUC model version 4.3. The model links to ecoinvent v3.4 consequential version (fertilizer from ecoinvent is used when modelling intensification in the iLUC model. Before importing into SimaPro, establish a parameter called “iLUC”. This is used for switching on/off iLUC. When you assign the value “1” to the parameter, iLUC is included, and when the value is “0”, the iLUC is excluded.
