The SPOLD Data Exchange Software is a Windows 95(or later)/NT-compatible software to create, view, edit, import and export data in the SPOLD '99 format. The zipped file contains the setup program (version 3.1.2, dated 2002-08-16). Just run the SETUP.EXE to install the program on your computer. We would like to alert you to the following general Microsoft problem, which also affects the SPOLD Data Exchange Software: The setting of the decimal-and thousand-seperator should not be changed from the default for the language chosen under International settings in the Windows control panel, since this may cause unpredictable errors in the number format.

3.1.0 released 2001-08-28: Contains new spoldsys.mdb file, with updated and expanded look-up tables with new names and CAS-numbers for environmental exchanges (inputs from nature, outputs to nature, and other exchanges), applying the new SETAC nomenclature (Beaufort-Langeveld et al. (eds.): Code of Life-Cycle Inventory Practice. SETAC 2003), which we recommend as an improvement over the previous SPOLD nomenclature. User-defined CAS-numbers can now be added under Inputs from nature; Resources.

3.1.2 released 2002-08-16: New user-defined items can now be used from the pull-down menus under "Inputs from nature" and "Other exchanges." Also, a bug in the export/import function has been corrected. For current users of the program it is easiest to update simply by replacing sdes.exe in the SPOLD program folder.The SPOLD Data Exchange Software is currently maintained by 2.-0 LCA consultants. Software producers may download the software code (47.1 MB), modify the software, or integrate it into their proprietary programs under general public license. The software is developed with Visual Basic 6 and also makes use of the tool DataWidget from Sheridan Software. Please inform us of any improvements or applications of the software, so that we can inform others of the advances made.
The SPOLD Data Exchange Software is an update of the SPOLD Format Software originally published in 1997. Read about the improvements and new functionality here. The LCAnet Food Data Exchange Software is a pilot version of the SPOLD Data Exchange Software, developed by the LCAnet Food, an EU concerted action in the Food and Agricultural Programme (FAIR-97-3079). It allows you to place datasets in the SPOLD Information System using the SPOLD '97 format. This may be useful if your LCA-software is compatible with the SPOLD '97 format, but not yet with the SPOLD '99 format. The zipped file contains the most recent version of the setup program (version 2.1.4, dated 1999-12-20). Just run the SETUPLCA.EXE to install the program on your computer. Download now
