SUSPRISE
Environmental problems do not stop at the border – and nor does business and research. An international approach is vital in today’s world, especially when developing leading-edge sustainable technologies. Promoting such an approach is the core aim of the ERA-NET Sustainable Enterprise (SUSPRISE) project.
SUSPRISE seeks to expand cooperation and coordination among national sustainability research activities across Europe by promoting networking between government programmes in this sphere. In the long term, the initiative will create new forms of collaboration between national sustainability programmes. Specifically, the promotion of international networking through SUSPRISE will:
- Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of national sustainability programmes
- Generate synergies and cross-fertilization between similar programmes across Europe
- Improve and enhance research cooperation, coordination and knowledge transfer
- Avoid unnecessary duplication of work
- Support the joint development and use of new sustainable technologies
- Encourage mutual learning between sustainable approaches
- Enhance the implementation of EU policies and regulations
